Pioneering Achievements
Dr Michael Fakih has pioneered a form of "self-cytoplasmic transfer", by which mitochondria from one of a woman's own eggs is used to power another. This treatment already successfully treated several patients. We have been using this process for just over a year, as a result of which around 12 babies have been conceived, three of which have so far been born.
